Hi. My name is Candace Gilmore. I am from Memphis, TN, and I gained a love for the Spanish language my ninth grade year of high school. With the help of native speakers, I studied and practiced speaking everyday. I reached an advanced level of Spanish after three years of high school classes as well as college level Spanish. My major in college was International Relations. I also had the opportunity to tutor college level Spanish as well as translate for companies I worked with. What helped me most was my drive to learn the language to actually speak it in the real world. After traveling to the Dominican Republic in June of 2018, I was inspired to create the Viva Bilingue! Lets Speak Spanglish to help others to achieve their Spanish goals and gain the excitement and fulfillment I felt when I could go to another country and speak to the natives who did not speak my language with no problem.
